CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning

CLIL is an approach to learning which is gaining widespread interest. It provides learners with the opportunity to learn different subjects through the medium of a foreign language, i.e. English and leads to  a Level 7 EQC Certificate, accompanied by a Europass Certicicate Supplement with 10 transferable ECVET points.

CLIL can be used by teachers who teach subjects through English (i.e. history, geography, etc.) to primary/secondary non-native English speakers. It can also be used by teachers of English as it allows students to learn both content and language in real-life situations.

This course is addressed to primary, secondary, vocational teachers of English or teachers of various subjects who use or intend to use English as a means of teaching these subjects.

The main aim of this course is to familiarize teachers with CLIL. Teachers will learn the basic principles of CLIL, plan CLIL lessons and exchange ideas regarding issues of classroom management, lesson planning and materials development, Moreover, the course will help teachers improve their communication skills in English.
